What IPX Plans for Its 15 November Launch After a $4 Million Seed Round on Base
IPX closed a $4 million seed round in October, then named Ja Rule to its celebrity advisory board ahead of a 15 November public launch of its platform and $IPX token on Base.

IPX, a technology company headquartered in Miami, announced a $4 million seed round at a $125 million valuation on 15 October 2026. Later that month, the company named Ja Rule, a celebrity co-founder and shareholder, president of its Celebrity Board of Advisors. The public launch of its platform is set for 15 November.
The company describes a platform that lets creators tokenize, advertise, monetize and distribute their intellectual property, built on Base, an Ethereum layer-2 network. IPX says more than 100 celebrities have signed exclusive agreements to tokenize original IP. That figure comes from the company.
The $4 Million Seed Round and Its Lead Investors
The seed round was announced in a company release with a New York dateline, dated 15 October 2026. The Tribune's copy says the round was led by Bitsurge Holdings and YICIPX Holdings Family Office. Fortune's copy and The Defiant's article say Bitsurge Holdings led it alongside YICIPX Holdings Family Office. Several strategic investors also took part, but they are not named.
Brendan McCafferty is the company's founder and chief executive. In The Tribune's copy, he says IPX is building “a new covenant for intellectual property.” In Fortune's copy and The Defiant's article, he says creators should not have to sell their IP to fund their next project.
The announcements do not say whether the $125 million valuation is pre-money or post-money. They also do not say how the valuation was set.
Crypto Briefing's later report on the payments plan repeats the round's figures and says IPX plans a native token, $IPX.
Ja Rule's Role on the Celebrity Board of Advisors
The Defiant dates the appointment 27 October, while The Tribune's copy is datelined 29 October. Both versions name Ja Rule president of the board, and both describe him as a GRAMMY-nominated, multi-platinum artist. The Defiant calls him a founding shareholder; The Tribune's copy calls him a celebrity co-founder and shareholder. The Tribune's copy says he brings experience developing original IP across music, television, film, live entertainment and streaming.
As president, Ja Rule would help represent the interests of celebrities and creators on IP ownership, development, financing and fan participation, according to The Tribune. The Defiant's version says the role covers how artists, athletes and creators keep ownership of their IP, how their projects are financed and produced, and how fans get a voice.
In the company's announcement, Ja Rule says he is “a creative first” who has seen what happens to artists who do not own their work. He says that when he creates IP, he made sure every show is his IP, so that content will be ours, forever.
McCafferty says Ja Rule's vision for artists as creators, entrepreneurs and owners matches what IPX is building. The size of Ja Rule's stake, his compensation and the terms of the advisory role have not been announced.
How IPX's Tokens, Exchange and Payments Are Meant to Fit Together
IPX describes an agentic operating system and tokenized launchpad, together with an exchange, built on Base. Creators can tokenize, advertise, monetize and distribute their work in one place, according to The Defiant. Fans can buy, sell, trade and stake IP tokens on the exchange.
Each project token is paired with $IPX, which powers the operating system and exchange. Platform revenue, IP revenue, sponsorship commissions, network fees, monthly subscription revenue and revenue from off-platform subsidiaries are described as funding $IPX buybacks. The Defiant reports that contracts and platform terms require project revenue to flow back through the system.
On 28 October, IPX announced an integration with Stripe's Bridge. Bridge is a stablecoin infrastructure company that Stripe acquired in February 2025. Under the plan, eligible users and projects would get a Bridge virtual account that links bank accounts to IPX's smart contracts on Base. Revenue such as licensing fees and donations would be converted to USDC on-chain, according to Crypto Briefing.
Access is not automatic: accounts must pass onboarding and compliance checks. IPX's chief technology officer, Jordan Schlosser, describes the move as improving transparency and efficiency. The integration is scheduled to launch on 15 November.
Day-one IP tokens fall into three groups: Hollywood films and TV series, both legacy and new; A-list athlete video games; and YouTube creator membership tokens. Specific titles have not been announced.
“The size of Ja Rule's stake, his compensation and the terms of the advisory role have not been announced.”
Base, the Ethereum Layer 2 Under the Platform
Base is an Ethereum layer-2 network built by Coinbase and launched in 2023. Decrypt says it utilizes optimistic rollups, a technology that batches transactions together for processing to help users save on gas fees.
According to Decrypt, Base does not have a native token and instead uses Ethereum as the gas token to facilitate transactions.
Decrypt reports that in September 2025 Base said it was "beginning to explore a network token," and that Coinbase reiterated it has "no definitive plans" to launch a token for the Base network. Base originally ran on Optimism's OP Stack. Decrypt reports that in February 2026 it announced a move to its own stack.
The $IPX token is described as IPX's native token, paired with each project token.
What the 15 November Launch Covers and What Remains Open
IPX says the IPX operating system, the IPX Exchange and the $IPX token launch on Base on 15 November 2026. The Bridge payments integration is scheduled for the same day, according to Crypto Briefing.
The Defiant reports that IPX plans to share news nearly every week before the launch. The Tribune's copy says IPX expects to reveal more details on technology, partnerships and initial IP projects in the coming weeks.
The company says more than 100 celebrities have signed exclusive agreements to tokenize original IP. The Defiant's article on the Ja Rule appointment refers to IPX's 200-celebrity roster. No signatories have been named.
Several items remain unannounced: specific film and game titles, the names of celebrity partners, the size of Ja Rule's stake and the terms of his advisory role, and how the $125 million valuation was set.
